At 1:42 a.m. in any given timezone, only 3 people are awake in the world. A thief haunted by desire, a politician haunted with false promises and a pastor fighting demons that are apparently roaming around. And a writer. Not categorically certain what haunts the later. maybe deadlines, maybe passion. Last we checked, science had not yet made the big discovery as to why writers are night-owls. Seeing as I am awake, I must belong to one of the four categories. Strangely, I can’t figure out which.
When was the last time we were in Zim?
Wait, let’s see; Schingy was professing his love for mudiwa wangu mbanje!
And it so happened that we sneaked back to Zim, not for the mbanje, but something better. Lol. I’m tempted to start a debate that probably won’t end till scientists confirm that indeed there is life in Saturn and we all pack up and board a spaceship to go destroy the shit out of that planet. Isn’t that what we humans are best at? Destroying shit out of beautiful things… Anyway, I have randomly seen Bry’s name a couple of times, mostly just on the timeline since we have been following him for a while without any concrete engagement. Life in this day and age is funny: you pick a few strangers and go like, I think I like this one, and him and her and that other one too, so let me follow. No salutations, no his and in the end, no byes. Must be fun being a millennial.
The rapper also co wrote ‘Christhood Lights’ which was a hit in the U.S.A and featured on Jam the Hype claiming the number 1 spot on Radio Station In Nashville Tennessee in 2012
With such, we more often than not always turn to Google for debrief. Ooh how we hail you albeit in silence and secretly, thou almighty Google.
Once again, I’m indebted to the app for leading us to one of my favorite gospel Hip Hop artist in Zimbabwe – BryThreeSixty.
Been a while since I played some Gospel Hip Hop back to back but when sampling the multi-award nominated Zim artist, that’s the only right thing to do. He has a wide musical catalog, mostly done in a mixture of Shona (?) and English which makes even foreign ears grasp what he is talking about. Or rather, preaching. But who really is BryThreeSixty?
